Frequently Asked Questions
What are the age requirements? We welcome all ages but participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Our activities are not physically strenous and are designed to be accessible for young children to senior adults and everyone in between.
Will I need a visa? No, citizens of the United States and Canada don't require a visa for the destinations we serve. Just bring your valid passport and print out your intinerary details.
What if I need to cancel? Life can be unpredictable! If you're unable to join us, please let us know as soon as possible. The value of your expedtion can be used for a future trip of transfered to a friend or relative.
What should I pack? Pack light for ease of travel. The weather will be warm, bring a light waterproof jacket in case of showers. Bring a pair of comfortable shoes for walking, sunglasses and a water bottle. Out of consideration of other participants please limit your baggage to a carry-on bag and a small suitcase. Leave some space for items you'd like to donate. We sometimes have things like calculators, pencil sharpeners, note pads, tablets, rulers etc around the house that can make a huge difference for young students.
What will the food be like? Learning to appreciate local cuisine is a key goal of each expedition. As recommended by the Word of Wisdom we avoid an excess of meat and we focus on vegetables, grains and fruits. Please let us know in advance if your have specific dietary needs so we can plan accordingly.
How safe are the expeditions? Safety is our first priority and we carefully design the expeditions to avoid unnecessary risks. We don't go to areas of high crime and we don't stay out past 8pm. Please leave expensive jewelery or watches at home.
